Cat Trap

The gameplay of Cat Trap is a turn-based duel between you and the cat’s AI. On your turn, you click on a single light-green tile to turn it into a dark-green ‘wall’. Then, the cat will move one space to an adjacent light-green tile, always trying to reach the edge of the board. The key strategy is to anticipate the cat’s path and build a wall far enough away from it to slowly close it in. This is a pure and brutal logic puzzle, a different kind of challenge from the idle progression in a game like Idle Startup Tycoon. If the cat reaches the edge of the board, it escapes and you lose. If you successfully surround it so it has no moves left, you win.

▶️ How to play

The cat will start in the middle of the board. Click on a light-colored hex tile to place a block. The cat will then move one space. Continue placing blocks one by one to try and build a cage around the cat before it can escape off the edge of the screen.

💡 Tips and Tricks

The cat’s AI is smart; it will always move to the tile that currently has the shortest path to an exit. You cannot win by just blocking the tiles right next to it. You must build a perimeter several spaces away from the cat to slowly close the net. The best strategy is to create a large circle or wall and then slowly shrink it turn by turn.
