Your tree will automatically grow leaves. Click on a leaf to select it, then click on a branch to place a basic bear fighter. As enemies approach, your bears will fight them automatically. Defeating enemies drops energy cubes. Collect these cubes and use them to grow your tree taller or unlock new, more powerful types of bears.
Place your ranged, acorn-throwing bears on the higher branches where they are safe, and use your melee bears on the lower branches to block enemies. Do not be afraid to sell a damaged bear to recoup some leaves and replace it with a fresh one. Growing the tree taller is just as important as building an army, as it gives you more time to react to enemies at the bottom.
