About FixForce

FixForce is a six-player extraction platformer that hinges entirely on one mechanic: collaborative structure-building in real time under pressure. You and up to five teammates are deployed to repair broken machines scattered across hostile worksites, but you can only reach them by assembling towers and bridges from salvaged scrap parts on the fly. The release date for FixForce is July 17, 2026 on PC, and the game is built on the premise that all vertical and horizontal progress depends on how efficiently your squad can scavenge and stack materials before time, hazards, or rogue robots force a retreat.

The core tension sits in the extraction-loop design. Each round drops your team near machines that need specific parts to function; once repaired, you extract with payment. But the map generates fresh hazards and aggressive robots that actively destroy your scaffolding while you work, which means you cannot just build once and climb freely. You must defend your structures, adapt routes mid-mission, and manage the constant trade-off between climbing higher for hidden rewards and getting out safely with a paycheck. Losing a teammate is not a failure state—their head detaches and can be carried and snapped onto any other body in the group—but recovering it costs time and momentum.

Cooperative Building Under Fire

The game's defining risk is whether cooperative structure-building can sustain tension across a full extraction. In most platformers, the level is fixed; here, every route is player-made and temporary, which opens space for genuine emergent problem-solving. Six players with limited scrap must solve the same path differently each round, and the presence of destructive enemies forces the squad to choose between speed and structural safety. The mechanic is novel enough to carry a game, but only if the map design and robot AI are tuned tightly enough to keep routine extraction runs from becoming rote. Whether Surgent Studios can maintain that pressure without grinding the pace to a halt remains the open question.

Solo play is not mentioned, and the emphasis on rescuing teammates and shared scrap management signals this is built for groups. The release date falls in mid-summer 2026, a window when party-focused indie titles often find their audience. If you enjoy asymmetric co-op puzzles or extraction games where the path is as fragile as your team's coordination, FixForce is designed with you in mind. If you play primarily alone or prefer platformers with fixed geometry and predictable challenge, skip it.
