Fireboy and Watergirl 6: Fairy Tales adds a magical new twist to the beloved cooperative platformer series. In this unblocked installment, you must not only control the elemental duo but also a team of magical fairies. It is a fresh and innovative take on the classic formula, requiring even more multitasking and coordination.
The gameplay in Fairy Tales introduces a major new mechanic: controllable fairies. These fairies can be used to hold down switches, block lasers, and move objects that Fireboy and Watergirl cannot reach themselves. The key strategy is to use the fairies to prepare a path for your main characters. You might need to use a fairy to hold a switch on one side of the screen while you navigate Fireboy and Watergirl through the newly opened door on the other side. This three-or-four-character coordination is a deeper challenge than anything seen before in the series or in simpler games like Pop It Master.
Control Fireboy and Watergirl with their usual keys. Use your mouse to click and drag the fairies to different positions. The fairies can hold down buttons or block traps. Use all the characters in concert to solve the puzzles, collect the gems, and get the elemental duo to their exit doors.
Position your fairies first. Figure out what switches they need to hold before you even start moving Fireboy and Watergirl. You can drag the fairies to any point on the screen, giving you a lot of freedom to solve the puzzles creatively. Remember that the fairies can also be used to collect the diamonds.
Watergirl: WASD. Fireboy: Arrow Keys. Fairies: Mouse click and drag.
It adds a new layer of complexity, for sure. Controlling the fairies with the mouse while also moving the characters with the keyboard can be a challenge, especially for a single player. It is a game that truly shines in two-player co-op, where one person can manage the fairies while the other manages a character.
The number of fairies can change from level to level. Some levels might give you one fairy to work with, while others might give you two or more, each with a different color corresponding to different switches.
It might be a bit overwhelming for brand new players due to the added fairy mechanic. It is recommended to start with one of the earlier, simpler games to get a feel for the basic cooperative gameplay first.
